I'm not getting notifications?

If you're not receiving notifications in GLYPH, here are some steps to try.

GLYPH Settings

  • Verify your group notification settings.
    • Select a group.
    • Select 3-dot (ellipsis) menu.
    • Select Settings.
    • Under Personal Notification Settings.
      • Mute Notifications - this will prevent all notifications for this group.
      • Mentions Only (Default) - You will only get a notification if you are @mentioned in this group.
      • All - You will get a notification for all messages in this group.
    • Repeat for each group you participate in
      • NOTE: Direct Message settings cannot be changed and default to the All setting.
  • Force quit the app and restart your device
    • Sometimes notification issues can be fixed by restarting your device.

 

Web App

Note: You'll only be able to get notifications for GLYPH if you have GLYPH open in your browser.

  • Chrome
    • Select Chrome's 3 dot (ellipsis) icon.
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Privacy and Security.
    • Select Site Settings.
    • Under Permissions, select Notifications.
      • Verify Sites can ask to send notifications is selected.
      • Under Allowed to send notifications Add https://glyphapp.io
  • Edge
    • Select Edge's 3 dot (ellipsis) icon.
    • Select Cookies and site permissions.
    • Below All permissions, select Notifications.
    • Verify GLYPH is included in the Allow section.
  • Firefox
    • Select Firefox's menu at the top of your screen.
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Privacy and Security.
    • Below Permissions, click the Settings button next to Notifications.
      • Verify https://glyphapp.io is listed and Allow is selected.
      • Verify Block new requests asking to allow notifications is unchecked.
  • Safari
    • With Safari open, select Safari menu at the top of your screen.
    • Select Preferences.
    • Select Websites.
    • Select Notifications.
    • Verify GLYPH is allowed to send notifications.

 

iOS Notifications Troubleshooting

  • GLYPH Notification Settings.
    • Go to iOS Settings App.
    • Tap Notifications.
    • Tap GLYPH.
    • Verify Allow Notifications is toggled ON.
    • Under Alerts.
      • Check each - Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners.
      • Banner Style - select Persistent.
      • Sounds - toggle ON.
      • Badges - toggle ON.
  • Check Do Not Disturb Settings.
    • Go to iOS Settings app.
    • Tap Focus.
    • Tap Do Not Disturb.
    • Verify Do Not Disturb schedule is not running.
  • Check Sleep Focus Settings.
    • Go to iOS Settings app.
    • Tap Focus.
    • Tap Sleep.
    • Verify Sleep schedule is not running.
  • Turn off Low Power Mode.
    • Go to iOS Settings app.
    • Tap Battery.
    • Toggle Low Power Mode OFF.
  • Verify you are running the latest iOS version.

 

Android Notification Settings

  • GLYPH Notification Settings.
    • Go to Android Settings App.
    • Tap Apps & notifications.
    • See all apps.
    • Select GLYPH.
    • Ensure Allow notifications is toggled On.
  • Battery Optimization Settings.
    • Go to Android Settings App.
    • Tap Battery.
    • Tap Battery optimization.
    • Tap GLYPH.
    • Choose Don't optimize to allow background activity why your device is asleep.
  • Check Do Not Disturb.
    • Go to Android Settings App.
    • Tap Sound and vibration.
    • Tap Do Not Disturb.
    • Verify there are no restriction settings that may be interrupting GLYPH notifications.
  • Try resetting app permissions for GLYPH.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Tap Apps & notifications.
    • Tap App permissions.
    • Tap GLYPH.
    • Disable permissions.
    • Launch the GLYPH app and grant permissions again.
  • Verify your phone is running the latest Android OS.
